The Torrington Fire Department is committed to serving the City with the highest level of life and property protection. The Department is headquartered at 111 Water Street and has a substation located in the North End at 899 Main Street. In addition, the Torringford, Burrville and Drakeville volunteer companies assist in providing coverage throughout the City.
The Torrington Police Department strives to improve the quality of live through a community partnership, which promotes safe, secure neighborhoods while affording dignity and respect to every individual. The Department, housed at 567 Main Street, is staffed by 77 sworn police officers and eight civilian employees.
Both the Police and Fire Departments are comprised of a highly dedicated team of professionals who serve the city through various community programs in addition to their ongoing crime prevention and fire fighting duties.
