Minutes - Mun. Ren. Comm. 06/26/2008
MRC Minutes of Meeting For  6/26/08

Members in Attendance: Mike Clark, Isadore Temkin, Ed Cook, Alan Zordan, Bill Hill,  Mayor Bingham. Also Present: Bob Roach, Lorel Purcel and Steve Nocera.

The meeting opened at 6:32 PM on a motion from Bill Hill, seconded by Alan Zordan.

Minutes of Meeting from 6/12/08 were approved on a motion from Mayor Bingham,  seconded by Bill  Hill.

Bob Roach presented an overview of the proposed Commissioning RFP and the  manner in which respondents would be required to format their proposals. The format  was established to allow various portions of the project to be commissioned rather than  the entire undertaking. This to ensure that costs are within budget. Mr. Roach explained  that once a commissioning service has been approved by the MRC, that the City of  Torrington would have to designate an “owner’s representative” for coordination. Mayor  Bingham agreed to coordinate the appointment of the person best qualified to perform  this function.

Steve Nocera presented an overview of the  six lease space bid reviews, including his  intention to have scheduled all walk through inspections by July 11th, with a goal for final   selection  by August 1st.

Bob Roach reviewed the status of the Traffic Building portion of the project indicating  that the building is on schedule with  the next step being a review by Planning and  Zoning   on July 10th.

Lorel Purcel detailed the projected schedule and indicated that schedules are in
compliance with goals at this time. Assuming that soil tests on samples taken on  Winthrop Street on June 30th are favorable, O&G estimates bid advertising around  August 1st.

Mayor Bingham stated that schedule coordination was underway for a Veteran’s  Memorial donor meeting before July 11th.

There was no other business discussed.

A motion to adjourn was made at 7:25 PM by Mayor Bingham,  seconded by Mr.  Cook.
